This is a fully remote position

Interstate Engineering, a regional engineering consulting firm, is seeking an experienced professional senior design engineer with a collaborative work style and a strong drive to expand our team. As a Senior Design Engineer, you will be instrumental in designing municipal, county, and roadway projects. While prior experience in these areas is advantageous, a willingness to learn is equally valued. You will leverage your technical skills through active involvement in the design process, guiding your team by offering technical direction and expertise.

Knowledge of the Following is Preferred:

1. Understanding of municipal, county, and state governments
2. Experience with municipal, county, and DOT facilities
3. Interest in transportation, hydraulics, and municipal engineering
4. Knowledge of state and federal codes and regulatory agency requirements
5. Design and rehabilitation of water distribution systems
6. Design and rehabilitation of sewage collection systems
7. Preparation of Preliminary Engineering Reports for water and wastewater facilities
8. Understanding of department of transportation design and construction process
9. Stormwater collection and stormwater detention/retention/reuse systems
10. Basic surveying

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or related field
• Licensed Professional Engineer in North Dakota, Wyoming, and South Dakota or ability to obtain within one year
• Technical knowledge of engineering principles and practices
• Experience with project management, proposal development, and marketing
• The capability of supervising, mentoring, and evaluating staff
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to work in a team atmosphere is vital
• Good driving record and valid driver’s license.
• Proficient in civil engineering software such as Civil 3D
• Proficient in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
