Job summary

SPG International in Covington, GA is seeking a Senior Design Engineer to lead new product development and improvements, coordinating with sales, engineering, supply chain, and manufacturing to deliver high-quality solutions.

You will develop and maintain designs, drawings, and documentation using Creo (SolidWorks preferred) and related tools, ensuring manufacturability and alignment with customer requirements.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of product design experience, preferably with sheet metal products.
• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering Technology.
• Experience with CAD software including Creo and SolidWorks.
• Knowledge of drafting practices, dimensioning, tolerances, and weld callouts.
• Strong communication and ability to work in lean, fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Create, update, and maintain manufacturing drawings.
• Provide design and drawing support for custom or modified standard products.
• Ensure accurate Bills of Material and complete product documentation.
• Lead projects to deliver final product designs that meet customer specifications.
• Identify VA/VE opportunities.
• Partner with manufacturing to ensure drawings are interpretable.
• Support product testing and inspections.
• Set up and maintain product MRP data.

This role collaborates closely with sales, engineering, supply chain, and manufacturing teams.
