Job summary

Wood PLC is seeking a Design & Document Control Lead for an on-site role in Pasadena, TX. You will lead mixed-discipline designers and document control staff on site-based capital projects within a chemical manufacturing facility.

Responsibilities include managing design groups, resource scheduling, and driving design estimates while ensuring safety and quality in construction packages. Extensive field experience and MicroStation proficiency are required.

Qualifications

• 20+ years of industrial experience in design, preferably chemical processing.
• Experience leading other designers on large projects.
• Experience estimating labor hours and scheduling design activities.
• Experience designing plant systems for chemical facilities.
• Outdoor design experience and ability to wear PPE and travel to site.
• Proficiency in MicroStation and Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Meet or exceed the site's safety standards and procedures.
• Manage the design and document control groups at the site.
• Allocate resources and assign design workloads to meet needs.
• Develop resource schedules and long-term forecasts for the group.
• Review, gatekeep, and approve design requests as they arrive.
• Drive design estimates and project schedules for capital work.
• Ensure high-quality construction packages and compliance with standards.
