Job summary

Ripple Inc. is seeking a Senior Derivative Accountant in Chicago to own the full accounting lifecycle for derivative instruments and hedging relationships across a portfolio of clients. You will handle documentation, testing, journal entries, and disclosures under ASC 815 and IFRS 9.

You will lead engagements, provide actionable summaries to clients and internal teams, and support audits. A CPA and advanced degree are preferred, with 5+ years of experience in hedge accounting.

Qualifications

• 5+ years hands‑on derivative and hedge accounting experience.
• Deep fluency in ASC 815 and IFRS 9, including disclosure requirements.
• Experience with fair value measurement (ASC 820 / IFRS 13).
• Ability to manage multiple client engagements and meet tight deadlines.
• Strong communication skills for non‑technical audiences.

Responsibilities

• Own end‑to‑end derivative accounting for interest rate swaps and other derivatives across client portfolios.
• Prepare and review hedge documentation, designation memos, risk objectives, and testing.
• Perform quantitative and qualitative effectiveness assessments (prospective and retrospective).
• Prepare journal entries and disclosures; respond to client inquiries.
• Provide clear summaries of hedge accounting implications for clients and teams.
• Lead audit support and engagement with external auditors.
