A leading aerospace firm in Wisconsin is seeking a Deputy Chief Engineer to define vehicle-level architecture and lead interdisciplinary optimization. The ideal candidate will have over 5 years of aerospace engineering experience, strong interpersonal skills, and be capable of managing technical risks. This role includes responsibility for successful program execution from design through mission completion, ensuring Firefly's technical excellence and innovative transportation systems.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of hands-on experience in design, analysis, test, or operations of launch vehicle and/or spacecraft systems.
• Demonstrated ability to apply engineering fundamentals with a strong understanding of orbital mechanics.
• Experience serving as the primary technical authority over a full spacecraft lifecycle.

Responsibilities

• Define vehicle-level architecture and capabilities in alignment with Firefly objectives.
• Lead interdisciplinary optimization for assigned programs and serve as technical point of contact.
• Manage program risks by identifying potential technical issues and enabling communication across departments.
