Job summary

Firefly Aerospace is seeking a Chief Engineering to define vehicle-level architecture and lead interdisciplinary optimization for space systems. The role requires directing system trades, analyzing mass, delta‑V, power, and data budgets, and acting as the primary technical authority across the full spacecraft lifecycle.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or related discipline; advanced degree preferred.
• 8+ years of hands-on aerospace engineering experience at the vehicle level.
• Proven ability to act as primary technical authority across a full spacecraft lifecycle.
• Experience with design reviews, risk/change management, and regulatory standards.

Responsibilities

• Define vehicle-level architecture and interdisciplinary optimization.
• Lead system-level trades, analyze budgets, and drive innovative capabilities.
• Chair design reviews and ensure compliance with standards.
• Provide on-console support and customer/vendor coordination across the lifecycle.
