Qualifications

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) required.
• Licensed to practice law in Delaware or eligible for in-house licensure within 12 months.
• Strong leadership, mentoring, and supervision abilities.
• Excellent drafting, negotiation, and advisory skills.
• Outstanding research, analytical, and communication skills.
• Ability to manage complex matters and projects with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a strategic advisor to the Vice President and General Counsel on transactional matters affecting the University.
• Oversee day-to-day work of the transactional attorneys and professional staff, including project allocation and performance reviews.
• Provide legal advice on procurement, real estate, construction, and other University business matters.
• Manage complex contracts and transactions, including public-private partnerships, joint ventures, and large gifts.
• Support research-related agreements, IP licensing, software, IT, and health care transactions.
• Develop processes, templates, and training to standardize contracting practices.
