Job summary

City of Ingleside is seeking an experienced Building Inspection Manager to supervise and coordinate commercial, residential, and industrial inspection activities within the Development Services Department. The role involves coordinating with other divisions and external agencies, and assuming responsibilities of the Building Official when needed.

The position requires leadership, strong knowledge of building codes, and the ability to supervise staff, review plans, and enhance permit/tracking

Qualifications

• Coordinate the organization, staffing and operational activities for commercial, residential and industrial inspections.
• Participate in development and implementation of goals, objectives, policies and priorities; recommend and implement resulting policies and procedures.
• Review construction plans, drawings and specifications to ascertain compliance with building codes.

Responsibilities

• Direct, coordinate and review the work plan for all building inspection services and activities; assign work activities and projects; monitor workflow; review and evaluate work products, methods and procedures.
• Review, analyze, and evaluate management systems and procedures; develop program procedures and manuals.
• Provide staff assistance to the Building Official; participate on committees; prepare and present staff reports.
