Logan Health – Whitefish (LHW) is actively seeking a Senior Department Assistant to support our medical staff services and credentialing functions. This newly developed role combines two crucial areas of need: local medical staff administrative support and the management of outside/referring provider exclusion check process.

This position is key to helping ensure continuity, compliance, and efficiency in medical staff operations—supporting quality care and helping to meet regulatory standards.

What We’re Looking For:

Required:

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in a healthcare or administrative role .

  • Excellent communication skills—both written (especially for minutes) and verbal.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (especially Word, Outlook, and Excel).

  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, proactive, and able to work independently.

  • Comfort interacting with providers and handling sensitive/confidential material with professionalism.

  • Willingness to be flexible—some medical staff meetings may begin as early as 7 AM.

Preferred but not required :

  • Experience with provider credentialing or medical staff services.

  • Background in quality, compliance, or Planetree initiatives.

  • Knowledge of HIPAA, Medicare/Medicaid compliance, and OIG exclusion check processes.

What You’ll Do:

  • Serve as the on-site point of contact for LHW medical staff, assisting with day-to-day administrative needs.

  • Perform provider credential verifications for outside/referring providers including exclusion checks and PECOS eligibility throughout the Logan Health system ensuring outside providers meet compliance standards to avoid billing or service delays.

  • Organize and facilitate Medical Staff Committee meetings by compiling meeting packets, sending invites, taking accurate minutes, and managing agendas.

  • Provide administrative support to the Chief Medical Officer (CMO) and other medical staff leadership .

  • Support the provider peer review process and assist with new provider onboarding.

  • Perform various tasks within Microsoft Office, support document & meeting minutes tracking, and maintain accurate credentialing and compliance documentation.

Shift:

Day Shift - Variable Hours (United States of America)

Schedule: Full-time, 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday, approximately 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM.

Please note: Some Medical Staff meetings may begin as early as 7:00 AM.

Logan Health operates 24 hours per day, seven days per week. Schedules are set to accommodate the requirements of the position and the needs of the organization and may be adjusted as needed.
