Qualifications

  • Four years of direct experience may substitute for a bachelor's degree under the Degree Equivalency Clause.
  • Must meet all employment eligibility requirements in the U.S.
  • Position may be subject to a Level 1 or Level 2 criminal background check

Responsibilities

  • Direct and manage the department’s finance and accounting practices and financial relationships with affiliated hospitals and external groups
  • Prepare and present the departmental budget; monitor cost-center compliance and budget variances
  • Maintain financial controls and comply with audit requirements
  • Collaborate with the Dean’s Office and USF Health senior leadership on strategic priorities, initiatives, and committees
  • Formulate strategic, business, and administrative plans supporting academic, research, and clinical programs
  • Oversee grant management and clinical research compliance
  • Coordinate with Research Office and Contracts and Grants Office
  • Manage clinical operations including accounts payable and receivable, billing, collections, productivity, managed care opportunities, and contractual arrangements
  • Oversee student, fellow, residency, and graduate program administration
  • Guide faculty and staff on financial and administrative operations and required compliance training
  • Lead staffing strategy and manage departmental administrative staff
  • Advise on organizational structure, faculty recruitment and retention, compensation and incentive plans, salary equity, space allocation, and capital equipment planning
  • Represent or advise the Chair in budget, space, and other negotiations with university and external organizations

Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or another field directly related to the position's specific responsibilities, and seven years of professional business management experience, including clinical operations, in an academic department; OR a Master's degree and five years of such experience
  • Four years of direct experience may substitute for a bachelor's degree under the Degree Equivalency Clause
  • Must meet all employment eligibility requirements in the U.S.
  • Position may be subject to a Level 1 or Level 2 criminal background check
