Job summary

California Job Shop is seeking an experienced Associate Attorney in Civil Litigation with a strong background in dental malpractice defense to join our growing litigation team. You will independently manage complex matters from inception to resolution and collaborate with clients, claims professionals, and experts.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years of civil litigation experience, excellent research and writing skills, and the ability to develop effective litigation strategies.

Qualifications

• JD from ABA-approved law school.
• Active California State Bar membership; Nevada Bar a plus.
• 5+ years civil litigation experience with focus on dental malpractice, medical malpractice, professional liability or related defense litigation.
• Experience independently managing complex litigation matters.
• Strong litigation strategy, discovery, depositions, motion practice, and trial prep.

Responsibilities

• Independently manage a caseload of complex dental malpractice and professional liability matters from inception through resolution.
• Analyze legal and factual issues, conduct thorough legal research, and develop defense strategies.
• Evaluate liability, damages, and case exposure; provide litigation strategy recommendations.
• Draft pleadings, discovery requests, motions, briefs, and mediation statements.
• Prepare for and conduct depositions of plaintiffs, defendants, dental professionals, experts, and witnesses.
• Review and analyze dental and medical records, expert reports, and deposition testimony.
• Identify, retain, and work with dental, medical, and other expert witnesses.
• Provide timely case evaluations and strategic recommendations to clients and insurers.
• Maintain relationships with clients, adjusters, and insurance representatives.
