University of Michigan’s Michigan Medicine unit invites applications for a Senior Dental Assistant in Ann Arbor. The role supports chair-side procedures, radiography, and patient prep, under supervision of dentists and students.

Strong emphasis on sterile technique and teamwork across clinical areas. Responsibilities include assisting in diverse procedures, managing supplies and radiographs, and ensuring patient comfort.

Qualificações

• Certification by the Dental Assisting Board (DANB) is required.
• Considerable experience as a dental assistant.
• BLS certification & a radiography certificate for Michigan Medicine positions.
• BLS, RDA and CDA certifications for School of Dentistry positions.

Responsabilidades

• Assist in chair-side procedures using four-handed dentistry.
• Assist in treatment rooms.
• Specialize in care of medically/mentally compromised patients with dental students, residents, and faculty.
• Perform general assisting duties: process sterile instruments, set up/tear down rooms, prepare patients, assist with prelim health checks, take vitals, obtain consents.
• Coordinate and maintain inventory, ordering and distribution of dental supplies, instruments, and equipment.
• Expose and develop radiographs per standard procedures or specific instructions.
• Clean, disinfect and arrange surfaces, storage cabinets, and dispensing areas.
• Coordinate maintenance and setup of dental equipment and operations.
• Process patient care orders using the electronic ordering system.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
