RTX in Tucson, AZ is seeking a software engineer to design and evaluate high‑fidelity digital simulation software within advanced computing environments. The role requires a STEM degree and 5+ years of experience in C++ and Python for analysis and automation.

Work will involve collaboration with program leadership and customers, development of model‑based decision support, and occasional travel (<10%). Onsite role supporting aerospace/defense programs.

Qualifications

• Degree in STEM with 5+ years of relevant experience.
• Experience developing software in C++ for engineering, research, or production.
• Experience writing/modifying C++ code for technical, scientific, or system-level applications.
• Experience developing Python scripts for analysis, automation, or system integration.
• Experience using Python to analyze data, model behaviors, or support workflows.

Responsibilities

• Develop high-fidelity digital simulation software in technical computing environments.
• Contribute to trade studies evaluating weapon system performance.
• Apply performance engineering practices to evaluate computational problems and identify improvements.
• Collaborate with program leadership, customers, and experts to develop analytic approaches for decisions.
• Develop and implement model-based solutions; validate models and software components.
• Travel occasionally to support project needs (typically <10%).
