The ideal candidate will hold a U.S. Coast Guard MMC with one of the required endorsements, have five years of sailing experience, and be able to draft clear written

Qualifications

• Ability to interpret regulatory requirements and prepare written recommendations.
• Experience evaluating maritime training curricula and instructor qualifications.
• Strong communication skills, both written and oral.
• Proven sailing background and marine engineering knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate maritime training course applications and instructor qualifications for compliance with regulatory requirements.
• Review course approvals and provide recommended actions based on Coast Guard standards.
• Draft formal responses to training providers detailing approvals or required corrections.
• Incorporate government feedback into course approval documentation.
• Stay current with maritime regulations, policies, and industry standards.
• Collaborate with government personnel and SMEs to support course approvals.
• Complete a minimum of 20 course approvals per month.
