Overview

The Senior Decision Support Analyst (SDSA) is a key member of the Prospect Research team at DFCI, providing critical information and tools to research colleagues, frontline staff, and the broader Division of Philanthropy. The SDSA leverages a complex data landscape to develop pipeline assessments for individual business units and frontline roles based on portfolio health, pipeline strength and fundraiser performance. Reports to the Director, Analytics, Prospect Research.

This position is considered remote, 0-1 days onsite at 10 Brookline Place, Brookline, MA each week. Some evening or weekend work may be required.

Responsibilities
  • Reviewing and summarizing complex information to make prospect management recommendations across frontline teams.
  • Preparing and interpreting prospect management reports for cross-departmental distribution using Microsoft Excel, Power BI, R, and Tableau.
  • Monitor and prioritize Prospect Management requests and escalate complex cases.
  • Leading ongoing review, maintenance, and reporting on Prospect ID & Research output to ensure frontline needs are met.
  • Completing data integrity audits to ensure all prospect management data is up to date and accurate.
  • Collaborating with the Director to further streamline internal data processes and reporting.
  • Executing a broad range of analyses centered around historical prospect management efficacy and business practice.
Qualifications

Minimum Education:

High school diploma or equivalency required; Bachelor’s degree preferred.

Minimum Experience:

3-5 years’ experience in a prospect management role involving data analysis, business intelligence, and/or decision support preferred.

License/Certification/Registration:

None

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:

  • Knowledge of fundraising operations and prospect management standards specific to healthcare or higher education.
  • Experience with data analysis and statistical software such as R and/or Python.
  • Proficiency with data visualization tools like Tableau or Power BI.
  • Experience with querying databases.
  • Skills in Microsoft Excel, including the use of pivot tables, joining methods, and formula development.
  • Strong quantitative and analytical skills to interpret complex data and generate actionable insights.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills to create clear and concise reports and documentation and to effectively communicate findings and recommendations to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Proven history of working effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders including consistent diplomacy and tact in enforcement of policy and procedure.
