Job summary

LexisNexis Risk Solutions is seeking a Database Reliability Engineer to join the Database Administration team. You will manage MySQL in large-scale production, design highly available architectures, and drive automation and cloud modernization in Azure and AWS.

The role requires strong experience with MySQL replication, HA/DR, backup/recovery, and observability tools; familiarity with CI/CD, Terraform, Python, and DevOps practices is highly desirable.

Qualifications

• Experience as a MySQL DBA, Database Engineer, or Reliability Engineer.
• Expertise in MySQL replication, HA/DR architectures, backup/recovery, security, and performance tuning.
• Experience supporting cloud database platforms in Azure and/or AWS.
• Strong automation skills using Python, Bash, Ansible, Terraform, or similar tools.
• Experience with GitHub Actions, CI/CD pipelines, and DevOps practices.
• Knowledge of observability tools such as Grafana, Datadog, ELK, Azure Monitor, or CloudWatch.
• Strong troubleshooting, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Experience with PostgreSQL, SQL Server, MongoDB, or Oracle is beneficial.
• Knowledge of SRE principles, including SLIs, SLOs, incident management, and post-mortems.
• Experience with cloud modernization, platform engineering, and self-service automation.
• Familiarity with AI-assisted operations and engineering productivity tools.

The Database Administration team provides enterprise-wide support for mission-critical database platforms, ensuring high availability, performance, security, and operational stability. The team manages MySQL, SQL Server, PostgreSQL, Oracle, and cloud database technologies across hybrid environments while driving automation, observability, disaster recovery readiness, and continuous improvement initiatives. Working closely with engineering, infrastructure, security, and DevOps teams, DBAs play a key role in delivering resilient and scalable data services that power business-critical applications.

About The Role

We are seeking candidates with deep production support experience in MySQL replication, database reliability engineering, and cloud-based database platforms. Experience with Azure, AWS, PostgreSQL, SQL Server, and MongoDB is highly desirable. The ideal candidate combines traditional database administration expertise with modern DevOps, SRE, automation, and cloud engineering capabilities and is passionate about building highly reliable, scalable, secure, and automated database platforms.

U.S. National Base Pay Range: $95,300 – $158,800. Geographic differentials may apply in some locations to better reflect local market rates. Base Pay Range for CO is $95,300 – $158,800. Base Pay Range for IL is $100,100 – $166,800. Base Pay Range for Chicago, IL is $104,800 – $174,700. Base Pay Range for MD is $100,100 – $166,800. Base Pay Range for NY is $104,800 – $174,700. Base Pay Range for New York City is $114,300 – $190,500. Base Pay Range for Rochester, NY is $95,300 – $158,800. Base Pay Range for OH is $90,500 – $150,900.
