Job summary

ESPN is seeking a Senior Reliability Engineer for the DEEP&T Data Stores team. You will design, implement, and maintain highly available database infrastructure across cloud and on‑prem environments, enabling scalable media systems for Disney ESPN products.

You will leverage SQL Server internals, automation, and CI/CD practices to improve reliability, performance, and observability at scale within a fast-paced tech organization.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CS/Engineering or related field.
• 5+ years with Microsoft SQL Server, AWS RDS for SQL Server, Azure SQL, and Azure SQL MI.
• Experience with Agile software development.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Build, deploy, and ensure DEEP&T database infrastructure is available 24/7/365.
• Design, modernize, and deliver database infrastructure via automation.
• Participate in architectural direction for database platforms and projects.
• Manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Provide database expertise for performance tuning, troubleshooting, and administration.
