Job summary

Front Door Defense is seeking a Database Administrator/Specialist and Software Developer in Huntsville, Alabama. You will lead complex SQL Server and Postgres design, optimize schemas, and support our web applications built on .NET Framework, C#, and Telerik components.

You will migrate data between SQL Server and Postgres, contribute to ASP.NET MVC projects, and help shape best practices for data access and performance within a small development team.

Qualifications

• 7–10 years of professional software/database development experience.
• Strong SQL Server schema design and optimization.
• Solid Postgres experience including performance tuning and cross-platform data considerations.
• Working knowledge of C#/.NET MVC web development.
• Comfort working in a small team where you may wear multiple hats.
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently on complex issues.

Responsibilities

• Lead SQL Server and Postgres design, performance tuning, and troubleshooting.
• Support migration and data integration between SQL Server and Postgres environments.
• Contribute to .NET MVC web applications (C#, Kendo/Telerik, front-end integrations).
