Tech Mirrors in Pittsburgh, PA is seeking a Senior Database Developer/Engineer to lead a SQL Server to Oracle migration. The role is onsite, with relocation support, and focuses on converting database logic, handling dynamic SQL, migrating data, and maintaining ETL processes and reports.

The ideal candidate has 10+ years in database development, strong SQL Server and Oracle expertise, and hands-on experience with ETL tools (SSIS/SSRS) and data migration.

Qualifications

• 10+ years in database development/engineering.
• Hands-on with SQL Server (T-SQL, stored procedures, dynamic SQL, SSIS, SSRS).
• Hands-on with Oracle (PL/SQL, performance tuning).
• Experience migrating from SQL Server to Oracle or modernization projects.

Responsibilities

• End-to-end migration from SQL Server to Oracle with schema/table/index/function conversion.
• Convert complex T-SQL to PL/SQL and refactor dynamic SQL.
• Design and implement data movement strategies with minimal downtime.
• Validate ETL workflows and reports for Oracle compatibility (SSIS/SSRS).
• Tune performance: indexes, execution plans, and Oracle design.
• Support testing cycles and collaborate with QA/biz teams.
• Assist cutover and hyper-care production support.
