Job summary

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree with 5 years of progressive post-baccalaureate experience in the job offered or in a Datacenter Engineering-related occupation.
  • Master’s degree with 3 years of experience in the job offered or in a Datacenter Engineering-related occupation.
  • 3 years of experience in: implementation of controls engineering (control system programming), BMS or EPMS operation, process improvement for critical infrastructure projects, data center architecture and system design, and application of engineering tools and analytical methods to verify design requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Define system-level architecture and product strategy for next-generation data centers.
  • Conduct engineering analysis and research innovative designs for data center equipment and facilities.
  • Develop and document standard operating and maintenance procedures for critical systems.
  • Implement process improvements across critical infrastructure projects to boost operational efficiency.
  • Validate that all designs and installations meet specified cooling, structural, and performance requirements.

Minimum qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Controls Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field and 5 years of progressive, post-baccalaureate experience in the job offered or in a Datacenter Engineering-related occupation.
  • Alternatively, will accept a Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Controls Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field, and 3 years of experience in the job offered or in a Datacenter Engineering-related occupation.
  • Position requires 3 years of experience in the following: Implementation of controls engineering, including control system programming; Building Management System (BMS) or Electrical Power Monitoring System (EPMS) operation; Process improvement for critical infrastructure projects; Data center architecture and system design; and Application of engineering tools and analytical methods to verify system design requirements.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $144,000 - $209,000 + 15% bonus target + equity + benefits determined by role, level, and location. Position reports to the Google Midlothian, TX office & may allow for a hybrid schedule as per Google policy.
