Job summary

Everforth ECS in Arlington, VA, seeks a Senior Databricks Migration Engineer to lead the migration of legacy data pipelines to a Databricks Lakehouse. You will design Bronze/Silver/Gold layers, implement PySpark ETL/ELT, and optimize for Power BI performance in a hybrid office environment.

You have 5+ years in data engineering, strong Azure experience, and a track record of guiding cross-functional data projects.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
5+ years' experience in data engineering or related roles.
5+ years' experience with cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, GCP).
1+ year leading complex, cross-functional data projects and technical teams.
Experience with Databricks Lakehouse, Apache Spark, Delta Lake, and distributed compute platforms.
Proficiency in SQL and Python/PySpark for data manipulation and pipelines.

Responsibilities

Lead migration from legacy SQL Server/ADF pipelines to Databricks Lakehouse and Delta Lake.
Design scalable Lakehouse frameworks (Bronze/Silver/Gold) and robust ETL/ELT pipelines.
Optimize Databricks SQL Warehouses for high concurrency and low latency Power BI queries.
Define governance standards using Unity Catalog and RBAC for secure access.
Mentor team through pair-programming, workshops, and code reviews.
Create architecture diagrams, design patterns, and optimization playbooks.
