Job summary

Cognizant is seeking an experienced Databricks Architect to lead design and implementation of enterprise data modernization initiatives. The role focuses on Databricks Lakehouse, AWS cloud technologies, large-scale data migration, and modern data engineering practices.

The ideal candidate will mentor engineers, establish best practices, and shape governance, security, and metadata strategies. Insurance/P&C domain experience is highly preferred, and remote work is available.

Qualifications

• 12+ years of Data Engineering/Data Architecture experience.
• 5+ years of hands-on Databricks Architecture experience.
• Experience with AWS cloud technologies and large-scale data migration.
• Experience in Insurance/P&C domain preferred.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement enterprise-scale Databricks Lakehouse architecture.
• Lead data modernization and migration programs to Databricks.
• Architect scalable ELT/ETL pipelines using Databricks, Spark, Delta Lake, and Python.
• Define data governance, security, and metadata management strategies.
• Provide architecture guidance for cloud-native solutions on AWS.
• Mentor data engineers and technical leads.
• Create architecture standards and technical documentation.
• Evaluate emerging technologies and AI/ML capabilities within the Databricks ecosystem.
