Job summary

Cognizant seeks an experienced Databricks Architect to lead enterprise data modernization. You will design Databricks Lakehouse solutions, drive migration from legacy platforms on AWS, and establish modern data engineering practices.

Insurance domain experience is a plus, and you will set standards for governance, security, and metadata management. You will mentor data engineers and collaborate with business, analytics, and engineering teams to implement scalable, cost-optimized data

Qualifications

• 12+ years of Data Engineering/Data Architecture experience.
• 5+ years of hands-on Databricks Architecture experience.
• Deep expertise in Databricks Lakehouse, Spark, Delta Lake, Unity Catalog, and AWS.
• Experience with large-scale data migration and data governance.
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement enterprise-scale Databricks Lakehouse architecture.
• Lead data modernization and migration programs to Databricks.
• Architect ELT/ETL pipelines using Databricks, Spark, Delta Lake, Python.
• Define governance, security, lineage, and metadata via Unity Catalog.
• Design batch and real-time data processing solutions.
• Provide cloud-native architecture guidance on AWS.
• Collaborate with business, analytics, and engineering teams to define data strategies.
• Establish best practices for data quality and cost optimization.
• Create architecture standards, reference architectures, and technical documentation.
• Mentor data engineers and technical leads.
