Job summary

Deloitte is seeking a Lead Forward Deployed Engineer (LFDE) to guide senior engineering pods embedded with strategic clients. You will set technical direction, remove blockers and stay hands-on while delivering GenAI solutions into production across client environments.

You will lead executive-level discovery, define success metrics and coordinate multi-pod engagements, ensuring architecture reliability and strong client experience. Travel and hybrid delivery are expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CS, Data Science or Engineering.
• 7+ years of experience in software, data or analytics engineering.
• 1+ years building GenAI/LLM-powered solutions in production.
• 1+ years of hands-on Databricks experience (DBRX, MLflow, Vector Search).
• 1+ years leading project workstreams and translating problems into AI solutions.
• 1+ years of writing maintainable, well-documented code.
• Willingness to travel ~50% across client sites.
• Limited immigration sponsorship may be available.
• Experience with cloud environments (AWS/Azure/Google Cloud) is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Serve as senior client-facing engineering partner across product, data and platform teams.
• Lead discovery, define success metrics and a phased plan from prototype to production.
• Influence executives, IT leaders and business owners toward a shared vision.
• Represent Deloitte's FDE capability in client pursuits and platform partnerships.
• Lead onshore/offshore pods, manage resources, escalations, and delivery health.
• Enforce delivery standards: sprint cadences, stakeholder comms, risk mgmt, quality gates.
• Architect and deliver GenAI applications including copilots and knowledge search.
• Define prompt engineering approaches and MLOps practices; ensure governance.
