Job summary

Blue Orange Digital is seeking a Senior Databricks Engineer for an all-remote, discovery/architectural engagement with a global client. You will own hands-on Databricks pipelines, building bronze/silver/gold medallion architectures that endure real technical scrutiny.

This is an individual contributor role with high ownership, collaborating with a client team that expects the same level of excellence. You will work with Python, SQL, and PySpark and participate in client discussions.

Qualifications

• Hands-on Databricks experience building end-to-end pipelines.
• Strong Python, SQL, and PySpark skills.
• Experience with medallion architecture (bronze/silver/gold).
• Ability to work independently and communicate findings clearly.
• Willingness to commit to up to 26 weeks.
• Excellent written and spoken English for client interactions.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain end-to-end Databricks pipelines using bronze/silver/gold medallion architecture.
• Write data engineering code in Python, SQL, and PySpark.
• Investigate unfamiliar client data and report findings.
• Engage in technical conversations with the client on engineering, data modeling, governance.
• Support “art of the possible” demo work as the engagement moves into later phases.
