Lovelytics is seeking a Sr. Data Engineer (Lead Consultant) with experience delivering strategic Databricks client engagements to join our Data & AI practice!

This Lead Consultant will play a key role in delivering on client engagements related to data warehousing, ETL development, data integrations, and data modeling. This is a client-facing role, focused on using and migrating to our partner technologies such as Databricks, AWS, and Azure. We are looking for someone who enjoys working in a collaborative, dynamic, and inclusive environment and has a passion for deriving insights from data.

This role is open in Ontario, Canada, and Arlington, VA, with a hybrid work schedule.

This role is not open for work sponsorship at this time.

Primary Responsibilities:
  • Utilize consulting and technical skills to work independently in a client-facing project environment.
  • Take responsibility for your own execution and occasionally lead individual work streams on client engagements under the supervision of the engagement lead.
  • Collaborate with team members to ensure successful project delivery.
  • Communicate effectively with internal teams and clients/partners.
  • Develop full ownership of your tasks within client engagements, including involvement in project planning and solution design.
  • Design and implement complex ETL/ELT pipelines with improved data processing times.
  • Lead small data warehousing projects with measurable performance improvements under the guidance of an engagement lead.
  • Contribute to real-time data processing solutions and managed streaming data.
  • Implement security and compliance measures for data pipelines.
  • Design and implement version control and branching strategies, integrating them into CI/CD pipelines for testing and deployment.
Our Ideal Candidate's Skills and Experiences:
  • B.S. in Computer Science or equivalent.
  • 3-5 years of experience in data engineering and big data, with at least 2 years working directly with clients and stakeholders.
  • Extensive knowledge of data warehousing concepts and hands-on experience deploying pipelines using Databricks (A must).
  • Skills in data modeling, database design, and version control.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to apply technical skills to engagement needs.
  • Experience working with engagement leads and directors on solution design and architecture.
  • Familiarity with Lovelytics tools and client tools.
