Job summary

Palmetto GBA – one of BlueCross BlueShield’s South Carolina subsidiary companies – is seeking a reports analyst to create database reports based on end-user needs and data manipulation techniques. You will analyze current reporting methodologies and develop web- and computer-based data retrieval systems. This is a full-time remote position with an 8:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree required; Degree Equivalency: 2 years related work experience.
• 3 years experience with database, mainframe, or spreadsheet applications.
• 3 years’ experience with Easytrieve, DB2, SQL, or similar programs.
• Strong computer experience with spreadsheet and database applications; attention to detail; organizational, analytical, customer service and communication skills.

• Maintains/revises programming logic for existing routine reports to provide timely and accurate data.
• Analyzes current reporting methodologies.
• Creates and maintains data retrieval systems (computer and web-based).
• Generates routine internal and external reports daily, monthly, quarterly, and annually.
• Interviews customers to obtain data criteria.
• Updates programming logic per customer specifications.
• Assists with system testing and provides technical support.
• Assists with departmental training issues.
• Participates in projects to develop, maintain, and implement new processes, applications, policies, and forms.

Summary

Logistics

Location: This a full-time (40 hour/week) Monday - Friday remote position.

You will work an 8- hour shift scheduled during normal business hours of 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.

What You’ll Do

• Creates reports in accordance with user information and specifications.

To Qualify for This Position, You’ll Need the Following

• Required Education: Associate’s degree. Degree Equivalency : 2 year’s job-related work experience.


• Required Work Experience: 3 years working with database, mainframe, or spreadsheet applications. 3 years’ experience with Easytrieve, DB2, SQL, or similar programs. (may be concurrent).


• Required Skills and Abilities: Strong computer experience with solid background using spreadsheet and database applications. Attention to detail. Good organizational, analytical, customer service, and communication skills. Knowledge of mathematical or statistical concepts. Ability to comprehend the differences among dataset types.


• Required Software and Tools: Microsoft Office.
