Job summary

LSEG (London Stock Exchange Group) is seeking a Senior Database Engineer to join the DataScope Database Administration team. The role involves managing 400+ Sybase ASE, SQL Server, Oracle, and cloud-based databases across development, testing, pre-production, and production.

You will partner with development, QA, infrastructure, and product teams to deliver reliable, scalable, and secure database solutions, driving modernization, automation, and operational excellence.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CS/IT/Engineering or equivalent experience.
• Experience administering enterprise databases including Sybase ASE and cloud SQL.
• Strong troubleshooting and root-cause analysis in production systems.
• Experience with SQL tuning and automation scripting (Python/Bash/Perl).

Responsibilities

• Deliver database changes with stability and data integrity across environments.
• Design, develop, and enhance database tools and automation.
• Provide guidance for test planning, troubleshooting and issue resolution.
• Support cloud deployments and modernization in Azure/AWS.
• Maintain operations, monitoring, capacity planning, and DR readiness.
