PriceSenz LLC is seeking a Senior Software Engineer – Database Systems for a fully remote role across the United States. The position focuses on designing, building, and optimizing scalable data flows that power mission-critical software platforms.

You will write efficient application-level database code to ensure data integrity, low latency, and high reliability in distributed systems, modernizing legacy scheduling systems and supporting production deployments during critical release phases.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional software development with backend and database focus.
• Expert-level Python for high-performance backend services, asynchronous apps.
• Deep knowledge of relational and NoSQL databases, with tuning and indexing.
• Experience with AlloyDB, Cassandra, and PostgreSQL.
• Experience with Docker or similar container environments.
• Strong understanding of distributed systems, concurrency, and data modeling.
• Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills.

Senior Software Engineer – Database Systems (Full-Time | Remote – U.S.)

Position Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Software Engineer with deep specialization in database engineering to join our team. This role focuses on designing, building, and optimizing highly scalable data flows that power mission-critical software platforms.

You will be responsible for writing highly efficient application-level database code that ensures data integrity, low latency, and high reliability across distributed systems. This role will play a key part in modernizing legacy scheduling systems while supporting production environments during critical deployment phases.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and optimize software and database systems with a focus on performance, reliability, scalability, and cost efficiency.
• Develop high-performance solutions for processing large volumes of distributed data while minimizing latency and maximizing throughput.
• Write efficient application-level database code, including query optimization, indexing strategies, partitioning, and connection management.
• Design, implement, and optimize solutions using Cassandra, AlloyDB, and PostgreSQL.
• Identify and eliminate performance bottlenecks across database interactions and complex data processing workflows.
• Support production deployments and ensure the stability and reliability of database infrastructure under heavy workloads.
• Collaborate closely with engineering teams to understand data requirements and deliver scalable backend solutions.

Required Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional software development experience with a strong emphasis on backend systems and database engineering.
• Expert-level Python experience building high-performance backend services, asynchronous applications, and distributed systems.
• Deep understanding of database systems, including architecture, internals, tradeoffs, and performance optimization.
• Strong experience with both relational and NoSQL databases, including advanced tuning, indexing, partitioning, and query optimization.
• Production experience managing and optimizing large-scale NoSQL database clusters.
• Practical experience with AlloyDB.
• Strong understanding of:
• Concurrency control
• Indexing strategies
• Data modeling
• Experience building systems that process high-volume distributed data with strict latency requirements.
• Experience working with Docker or other containerized environments.
• Strong understanding of distributed systems architecture.
• Experience with C++, Go, or Rust is a strong plus.
