Job summary

Insight Global in Cleveland, OH seeks a Senior Database Developer to design, build, and maintain data systems for large-scale data processing and analytics. You will collaborate with software engineers, QA, and business SMEs to ensure reliable, secure data pipelines.

Work spans on-prem and cloud environments (Oracle, MySQL, Snowflake) with ETL tooling, data modeling, and performance tuning to enable timely insights. This is a full-time role with a salary target of 130k–150k USD.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of database development experience.
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS or Azure).
• 5+ years of data application development experience.
• 2-4 years of SQL experience (PL/SQL, SnowSQL, PostgreSQL).
• 2-4+ years working with web-based application teams and integrations.
• 2-4+ years of Linux shell scripting.
• Strong knowledge of Oracle, MySQL, Snowflake with performance tuning.
• Experience with on-prem and cloud-based ETL tools and data warehouses.
• 3+ years of cloud-based OLTP DB applications (MariaDB/MySQL).
• 4+ years of on-prem OLTP DB applications (Oracle 19c) in multi-tier environments.

Insight Global is looking for a Senior Database Developer in Cleveland OH. The Senior Database Developer is responsible for designing, building, and maintaining the systems and infrastructure that enable organizations to collect, store, process, and analyze large volumes of data. This role involves collaborating closely with software developers, analysts, QA engineers, business process / functional SMEs, and other stakeholders to ensure that data is accessible, reliable, and secure. They are responsible for tasks such as application data design, data ingestion, data transformation, data integration, data pipeline development, and modernization. Senior Data Engineers also play a crucial part in data governance, ensuring that data is compliant with regulations and policies. This role also includes all aspects of software development and deployment of IT Operations to shorten delivery and time to market for data products, data pipelines, and data warehousing. Overall, the incumbent helps organizations leverage their data to gain meaningful insights and make informed decisions.

Skills and Requirements

• 5+ years of Database Development
• AWS or Azure
• 5+ years of data application development experience.
• 2-4 years of experience with SQL including, but not limited to: PL/SQL, SNOWSQL, PostgreSQL
• 2-4+ years of experience working with web-based application teams, system integrations, and web services
• 2-4+ years of experience with server-side scripting and programming in a Linux environment (primarily bash shell)
• Advanced understanding of common database (Oracle, MySQL, Snowflake) technologies including performance, tuning, and optimization.
• Advanced data manipulation skills and experience with on-prem and cloud-based data warehouse ETL tools and processes
• Basic understanding of business processes such as OTC, P2P, PIM to understand context of data usage 3+ years of experience with cloud-based OLTP database applications in MariaDB, MySQL, or similar
• 4+ years of experience with on-prem OLTP database applications in Oracle 19c and UNIX/LINUX/Solaris platforms within a multi-tier environment.
• Experience supporting micro-services application design through building data processes, designing data structures, supporting data transformations, metadata, dependencies, and workload management.
• Proficiency in data modeling software like ER diagramming tools, database design tools, and data modeling languages.
