Job summary

Arizona Department of Transportation (ADOT) is seeking a Senior Database Administrator to proactively manage and optimize a complex production database platform. You will translate user needs into scalable database solutions using on‑premises and cloud services, with a focus on performance monitoring and proactive issue prevention.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree plus 5 or more years of database administration experience (or equivalent).
Strong customer service and communication skills.
Experience with Google Workspace is preferred.

Responsibilities

Ensure health, stability, and performance of the production database platform.
Implement advanced monitoring and alerting to predict issues.
Translate business needs into scalable, cost‑effective DB solutions using on‑prem and cloud services.
Engineer solutions for performance bottlenecks and resource usage.
