Job summary

ASM Research, An Accenture Federal Services Company, seeks a Mid-level Database Administrator to oversee stability, performance, and security of enterprise databases supporting mission-critical systems in a regulated government environment.

You will design structures, indexing, DR planning, and coordinate with development, infrastructure, and cybersecurity teams to minimize downtime while delivering scalable data services across applications.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.
• 4–7 years of progressive database administration experience.
• Proficiency with Oracle, SQL Server, MySQL, or PostgreSQL.
• Experience with database security, backup/recovery, and disaster recovery planning.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and teamwork skills.
• U.S. citizenship and ability to travel <10%.
• Active SECRET clearance or ability to obtain as required by the client.

Responsibilities

• Administer production and non-production DB instances (Oracle, SQL Server, MySQL, PostgreSQL).
• Design indexing, statistics, and query plans for performance.
• Develop backup/DR strategies and conduct recovery tests.
• Implement encryption, RBAC, auditing for data protection.
• Coordinate upgrades, patches, and cross-environment migrations.
• Develop data integration using ETL tools and scripts.
• Perform capacity planning and storage management.
• Troubleshoot deadlocks, long-running jobs, and resource contention.
