Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree with 21 semester credits in one or a combination of computer science, data processing, computer information systems, data communications, networking, systems analysis, computer programming, information assurance, IT project management or mathematics.
• Two years of professional experience equivalent to an Information Technology Infrastructure or Programmer/Analyst P11.
• Associate's degree with 16 semester credits in related IT fields and two years of experience; or four years of IT experience in lieu of education.
• In accordance with federal law, all new employees must provide proof of eligibility to work in the United States within three business days of beginning employment.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and implement database systems for Michigan State Police (MSP).
• Provide maintenance, support, and assistance to specialist DBAs with installation and configuration of clustered database failover, replication, and backup solutions.

Education

Bachelor's degree with 21 semester credits in computer science / data processing / computer information systems / data communications / networking / systems analysis / computer programming / information assurance / IT project management or mathematics

Associate's degree with 16 semester credits in computer science / information assurance / data processing / computer information / data communications / networking / systems analysis / computer programming / IT project management / mathematics and two years of related IT experience or two years (4160 hours) as an IT Student Assistant

High school diploma with four years of experience as an application programmer / computer operator / information technology technician or four years (8320 hours) as an IT Student Assistant
