The Department of Technology, Management and Budget, Agency Services area, is hiring an Information Technology Programmer/Analyst 12 in Lansing, MI. The role involves designing, developing, testing, and implementing MSP-focused database systems with support to DBAs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree with 21 semester credits in one or a combination of computer science, data processing, computer information systems, data communications, networking, systems analysis, computer programming, information assurance, IT project management or mathematics.
• Two years of professional experience equivalent to an Information Technology Infrastructure or Programmer/Analyst P11.
• Associate's degree with 16 semester credits in related IT fields and two years of experience; or four years of IT experience in lieu of education.
• In accordance with federal law, all new employees must provide proof of eligibility to work in the United States within three business days of beginning employment.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and implement database systems for Michigan State Police (MSP).
• Provide maintenance, support, and assistance to specialist DBAs with installation and configuration of clustered database failover, replication, and backup solutions.

Job description

The Department of Technology, Management and Budget supports the business operations of state agencies through a variety of services, including building management and maintenance, information technology, centralized contracting and procurement, budget and financial management, space planning and leasing, construction management, motor vehicle fleet operations, and oversight of the state retirement systems. This position is with the Agency Services area of DTMB.

As a Senior Database Administrator, the employee performs a complete range of information system database analyst assignments including, but not limited to, designing, developing, testing, and implementing database systems for Michigan State Police (MSP). This individual will be looked upon to provide technical support to other team members and evaluate new database solutions and technologies. Provide maintenance, support, and assistance to specialist DBAs with installation and configuration of clustered database failover, database replication, and database backup solutions.

DTMB does not participate in STEM-OPT.

IT Bonus

This position may be eligible for a sign-on bonus up to $2,500. Up to $1,250 to be paid upon new hire and the remainder to be paid after satisfactory completion of the initial probationary period (12-month period). This does not apply to current state employees.

Position Location/Remote Office

The office location is Lansing, MI. The State of Michigan is not able to offer employment to out-of-state applicants that do not plan to relocate. The Department of Technology Management and Budget currently offers a hybrid work option which requires two days working on-site at the official work location and three days of remote work per week.

Possession of a Bachelor's degree with 21 semester (32 term) credits in one or a combination of thefollowing: computer science, data processing, computer information systems, data communications,networking, systems analysis, computer programming, information assurance, IT project managementor mathematics.

Experience

Information Technology Programmer/Analyst 12

Two years of professional experience equivalent to an Information Technology Infrastructure orProgrammer/Analyst P11.

Information Technology Programmer/Analyst 12

Possession of an associate's degree with 16 semester (24 term) credits in computer science,information assurance, data processing, computer information, data communications, networking,systems analysis, computer programming, IT project management, or mathematics and two years ofexperience as an application programmer, computer operator, or information technology technician; ortwo years (4,160 hours) of experience as an Information Technology Student Assistant may besubstituted for the education requirement.

OR

Educational level typically acquired through completion of high school and four years of experience asan application programmer, computer operator, information technology technician, or four years (8,320hours) of experience as an Information Technology Student Assistant may be substituted for theeducation requirement.

Certain positions may require certification in specific information technology programs.
