What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Oversee the design, implementation, and maintenance of SQL Server databases to ensure a reliable and high-quality infrastructure
- Optimize database performance through query tuning, indexing, and resource monitoring
- Collaborate with Cloud Engineering to design and implement backup strategies and disaster recovery processes
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex database issues in production and non-production environments
- Mentor and provide guidance to junior engineers and contribute to technical discussions

What is Required (Qualifications):
- 10+ years of hands-on experience architecting, designing, and managing Microsoft SQL Server
- Ability to analyze and communicate technical issues and lead discussions
- Experience deploying and managing database solutions in a public cloud, preferably Microsoft Azure
- Expert knowledge in performance tuning, automation, and disaster recovery for SQL databases
- Strong understanding of networking and storage related to database performance optimization

How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Working knowledge of Linux and PostgreSQL
- Experience in high-performance computing or big data environments
- Familiarity with PowerShell, Bash, or other scripting languages
- Experience managing databases in a container environment like Kubernetes
- Relevant certifications such as MCSA: SQL Server or MCSE Data Management
