Senior Database Administrator:

This is a remote position working for Caret Legal in the Cloud Engineering group supporting multiple RDBMS and NoSQL applications in the cloud and on premise.

As the Sr. DBA, you will shape the direction of multiple products working closely with infrastructure, engineering, and product teams. You will be responsible for ensuring data availability, integrity, and security. Your duties include routine database administration functions such as capacity planning, performance monitoring and tuning, security procedures, and backup and recovery processes.

Requirements

This role is for a Sr. Database Administrator managing Microsoft SQL Databases, requiring hands-on MSSQL management, maintenance, performance tuning, and collaboration with infrastructure and engineering teams.

  • Monitor database performance, identify bottlenecks, and implement optimization strategies
  • Develop and implement stored procedures and functions
  • Collaborate with development teams to optimize SQL queries and stored procedures
  • Perform database design, data modeling, and schema management
  • Conduct database maintenance and management
  • Design and develop data archiving strategies
  • Develop key performance metrics to track data archiving progress
  • Educate developers on database development best practices
  • Familiarity with programming languages like SSIS, C#, PowerShell, Python, SQL, and NoSQL databases

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience
  • 7+ years of SQL Server DBA experience
  • Expertise in SQL development, troubleshooting, and performance tuning
  • Knowledge of indexing, index management, and statistics
  • Proficiency with Query Store or equivalent tools
  • Experience with Azure SQL/Azure Elastic Pools in multi-tenancy environments
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Understanding of DevOps, including Azure DevOps
  • PowerShell scripting skills
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment

The compensation range is $135,000 - $145,000, depending on qualifications and market conditions. Compensation may include bonuses and merit increases based on performance.
