Job summary

Jobtailor seeks a senior Oracle Database Administrator to oversee installation, configuration, and optimization of Oracle databases ensuring high performance, security, and availability.

You will design schemas, monitor health, perform backups, and troubleshoot issues while collaborating with cross-functional teams on cloud integrations in a secure environment. A Top Secret clearance with SCI eligibility and ITIL v4 certification are required, with 10+ years of DBA experience.

Qualifications

Active Top Secret Security Clearance with SCI eligibility.
B.S. in a related field and 10+ years of database administration experience including Oracle DBs.
ITIL v4 Certification.
Oracle Database Administration (12c-21c): installation, configuration, patching, troubleshooting.
Strong understanding of data and databases, Python, translating customer requirements, and cross-functional collaboration.
Strong oral and written communication skills.
Multitenant: installation, configuration, patching, troubleshooting.
RMAN: backup and recovery and recovery catalog management.
Automation & scripting: Shell (Bash), Ansible, and/or Perl.
Oracle Data Guard: standby implementation and failover/failback procedures.
Monitoring: OEM management, patching, and configuration.
Security & Compliance: TDE, auditing, and STIGs.
Oracle Apex: installation, configuration, patching, and security.
ORDS: installation, configuration, and patching.
OS: Linux navigation and related command-line tools.

Responsibilities

Install, configure, maintain, and optimize Oracle database systems for performance, security, and availability.
Design schemas, monitor health, and perform backups and recovery operations.
Troubleshoot database issues, manage access, and optimize queries.
Ensure policy compliance and stay updated with Oracle advancements.
Provide technical support for incidents, outages, and service interruptions.
Investigate infrastructure problems and perform corrective actions.
Architect Oracle databases and infrastructure across configurations to meet requirements.
Implement robust backup, restoration, and disaster recovery strategies.
Monitor and tune database performance to minimize downtime and maximize efficiency.
Collaborate with application teams to design and optimize databases.
Spearhead scalability and high availability for cloud-based databases like Azure SQL/Synapse.

Job description

Responsible for the installation, configuration, maintenance, and optimization of Oracle database systems to ensure high performance, security, and availability.
Design and implement database schemas, monitor database health, and perform routine backups and recovery operations.
Troubleshoot database-related issues, manage user access and permissions, and optimize queries.
Ensure compliance with organizational policies and industry standards while staying current on updates, patches, and advancements in Oracle technologies.
Provide technical support for incident response, service degradations, outages, and other service interruptions.
Investigate hardware and software problems related to the database-hosting infrastructure and perform corrective actions.
Architect and design Oracle databases and associated infrastructure in clustered, stand‑alone, and/or appliance-hosted configurations which fulfill mission requirements.
Implement robust backup, restoration, and disaster recovery strategies.
Monitor, fine‑tune, and optimize database performance for minimal downtime and maximum efficiency.
Collaborate closely with application development teams to design and optimize Oracle databases.
Spearhead scalability and high availability efforts for Azure SQL, Synapse Analytics, and other cloud‑based databases.

Requirements

Must have an active Top Secret Security Clearance with SCI eligibility
Possesses a B.S. in a related field and 10+ years of database administration experience including experience with Oracle databases.
ITIL v4 Certification
Oracle Database Administration (12c-21c): Installation, configuration, patching, and troubleshooting.
A strong understanding of data and databases, Python, the ability to translate customer requirements, collaborating with cross‑functional stakeholders
