Steampunk is seeking a skilled Data Visualization Specialist to create impactful dashboards and reports for a major federal agency. You will design analytics solutions, ensure performance and security, and collaborate with stakeholders throughout an Agile lifecycle.

The role requires 5–7 years in BI tools (Tableau/Power BI/Cognos), Data Lake/Parquet experience, and strong communication skills to translate data into actionable insights for mission goals in a federal environment.

Competenze

• Master's Degree with 3 years of relevant experience or Bachelor's with 5 years or no degree with 10 years of relevant experience.
• 5-7 years of experience designing, developing, and configuring data visualizations for different users.
• 5-7 years of experience with Tableau, Power BI, Cognos or similar tools for robust reporting.
• Experience building dashboards accessing a Data Lake, specifically Parquet files.
• Participation in BI platform migrations.
• Ability to lead or participate in business sessions to document analytic use cases.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills for varied audiences.

Responsibilities

• Will be a Subject Matter Expert for a large contract supporting a major federal agency and will be responsible for creating visually appealing and operationally impactful dashboards and reports. This impactful work will translate our client's data into actionable insights
• Use expert knowledge of data visualization tools to deliver information that allows client users to quickly understand data, ask better questions, and take action
• Design, develop, and deliver analytics solutions with consideration for functionality, data, security, integration, infrastructure, and performance
• Help migrate dashboards to single unified platform
• Collaborate with clients and stakeholders
• Help define enterprise data and technology needs to support business intelligence and analytics
• Facilitate meetings with diverse and sometimes conflicting points of view
• Support an Agile software development lifecycle
• You will contribute to the growth of our Data Exploitation Practice!

Qualifications

• Ability to hold a position of public trust with the US government.
• Master's Degree and 3 years of relevant experience; OR Bachelor's Degree and 5 years of relevant experience; OR No degree and 10 years of relevant experience
• Possesses at least one professional certification relevant to the technical service provided. Maintain a certification relevant to the product being deployed and/or maintained.
• 5-7 years of experience in designing, developing, and configuring data visualizations for different types of users
• 5-7 years of experience using Tableau, Power BI, Cognos, or other tools to create and develop robust reporting applications
• 5-7 years of experience with data management disciplines including data governance, data architecture, data modeling, data storage, data security, data integration, and data quality
• Experience building dashboards accessing a Data Lake, specifically Parquet files, is a must
• Have participated in a BI platform migration
• Ability to lead or participate in businesssessions to identify and document analytic use cases
• Ability to be a self-starter, take ownership of opportunities, work independently, and manage simultaneous projects
• Excellent written and verbal communications skills with the ability to explain advanced concepts to audiences of varying levels using simple terms
