THOR Solutions is seeking a Senior Data Visualization Developer with strong experience with both Power BI and Tableau to support NIWC Pacific in San Diego, CA. The selected candidate will develop and maintain business applications, automation solutions, and data management tools that support mission-critical operations. This role requires collaboration with government and contractor personnel to deliver innovative technology solutions that improve efficiency and decision-making. An ideal candidate has significant experience with Power BI, Power Apps, Power Automate, and Tableau in a Navy or DoD environment.

TypicalResponsibilities

This position’s responsibilities include (but are not limited to):

• Design, develop, and maintain Microsoft Power Apps, Power Automate, and Tableau solutions to support engineering and operational requirements.
• Support data transformation, reporting, and process automation initiatives across NAVWAR organizations.
• Provide support, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement for Power Platform applications and workflows.
• Integrate and manage data across SharePoint, Jira, and other enterprise systems to improve accessibility and consistency.

WorkLocation:

• Hybrid from San Diego, CA is strongly preferred.
• Fully remote candidates may be considered, from CONUS locations where THOR operates, with a preference toward candidates located in any of the following: CA, VA, RI, or District of Columbia.

Work Schedule:

• This position follows the California Alternate Work Week Schedule: Monday – Thursday are 9-hour days,Fridays are alternating 8-or 0-hour days, for a total of 80-hours for every two weeks.Workday starts at 7:15am PSTMon-Thu and on working Fridays.
• Candidate geographically located outside of California must still be available during Pacific Time work day: 7:15am-4:45pm PT on Mon-Thu and 7:15am-4:45pm PT on working Fridays.

Typical Physical Activity:

Primarily desk/computer work in an office environment. May involve: repetitive motion.

Typical Pay Range:

The anticipated pay for this position in the identified location(s) is $43.14/hour. Actual compensation offered will be based upon individual factors including education, qualifications, and experience.

ExistingSECRET Security Clearance Required:

This position requires an existing active or interim Secret security clearance prior to hire. Only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance; therefore, only current U.S. citizens will be considered for this position.

RequiredKnowledge,Skills,and Abilities:

• Bachelor’s degree ina relevant discipline.
  • In lieu of an appropriate bachelor’s degree,other combinations ofsufficiently relevantqualificationsmaybe considered,includingadditional years of highlyapplicableexperience, other degrees/professional training, military training, and/or professional certifications.
• At least ten (10)years of recent, relevant professional experience with a focus in:
  • Advanced Power BI Development: Significant expertise in Microsoft Power BI, encompassing both front-end visualization (designing intuitive, interactive displays and dashboards) and back-end architecture (e.g., Power Query, DAX, and semantic model management).
  • Tableau Experience: Demonstrated proficiency in developing and maintaining enterprise-level dashboards, creating complex calculated fields and Level of Detail (LOD) expressions, performing data modeling and transformation, integrating multiple data sources, optimizing workbook and query performance, implementing interactive visualizations, and translating complex datasets into actionable business intelligence and executive-level reporting.
  • Data Analysis & Troubleshooting: Strong analytical capability to interrogate complex datasets, proactively identify operational or data quality issues, and develop effective, sustainable fixes.
  • System Integration: Experience integrating and managing data across SharePoint, Jira, and other enterprise systems.
• Strong proficiency with Tableau, Power BI, and Power Apps.
• Proficiency with AI and integrating AI tools into data visualization and analysis workflows.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and support fast-paced operational environments.

Additional Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Data Preparation: Expertise with data shaping, cleaning, and preparing workflows, in Tableau.
• Experience supporting Department of Defense, Navy, or other government organizations is highly preferred.
