Job summary

TENICA is seeking a Data Transport Networks Engineer in Chantilly, VA. This role requires a TS/SCI clearance with CI Poly and will focus on maintaining transport network configurations and coordinating with providers to ensure secure, high‑availability services.

The candidate should have a BS in computer science or networking, 15+ years IC network experience, and 5+ years in IC agency transport projects with strong troubleshooting and documentation skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, networking, or related fields.
• 15+ years' experience supporting IC network/transport requirements.
• 5+ years' experience performing network design/engineering/analysis activities for an IC Agency's network requirements.
• Strong network troubleshooting and analytical skills in the network domain.
• Familiarity with the Systems Engineering lifecycle, including scheduling, risk management, and risk mitigation as applied to the network domain.

Responsibilities

• Maintain the configuration management database for the customer's transport network.
• Interact with network and transport services providers to resolve anomalies and performance issues, and to determine future products.
• Provide engineering for optical circuit design, integration, testing, and troubleshooting efforts.
• Develop circuit specifications, test methodologies, and exercise testing techniques to verify circuits meet specifications.
• Perform requirements analysis, schedule review, and cost estimation for services requiring new transport bandwidth.
• Conduct risk assessment and analysis of network architectures, and identify mitigations to minimize outages.
• Perform technical evaluation of vendor documentation and network designs.
• Document and support coordination of memoranda of understanding and SLAs.
• Review daily assessment reports of network health and provide guidance to operations and vendors.
