Job summary

United Bank in Vienna, VA is seeking a Data Steward to enforce data quality standards across CDEs for commercial and business loans. You will implement controls, review FHLB/FRB references, and collaborate with data owners to ensure accurate coding and reporting.

Responsibilities include identifying data quality issues, developing validation rules, coordinating corrections with Loan Tech Support, and communicating changes to frontline and back-office staff to promote consistent data governance.

Qualifications

• Five years’ experience in auditing, compliance and/or Banking Examiner role or equivalent.
• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Bachelor’s degree in business management/finance/information systems or related area preferred.
• Strong knowledge of industry regulatory controls and reporting.
• Experience with data management tools including process mapping and lineage toolsets preferred.
• Proficiency in MS Office products.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to prioritize time-sensitive tasks and manage workload.
• Ability to interact with all staff levels and ensure regulatory compliance.
• Strong problem solving and data governance skills.

Responsibilities

• Ensure the accuracy of assigned Critical Data Elements (CDEs).
• Develop and maintain knowledge of CDE definitions and usage for decision making.
• Proactively identify quality issues and collaborate with data owners to improve data quality.
• Develop data quality rules and reports to identify data quality issues.
• Identify and correct inaccurate data records and verify corrections in the system of record.
• Communicate changes in coding procedures to frontline and back-office staff.
• Serve as a bank-wide resource for determining correct codes for CDEs.
• Identify all bank-wide impacted parties and communicate changes and expectations.
