General Mills is seeking a Senior Data Steward to enhance their Data and Analytics organization. This role focuses on improving data quality and governance standards for Vendor and Customer Master Data. The ideal candidate will collaborate closely with stakeholders, ensuring data integrity and efficiency in processes. A Bachelor's degree and over five years of experience in data governance are essential to succeed in this position. Remote candidates are considered based on business needs.
Senior Data Steward OVERVIEW This is an exciting time to work in General Mills’ Data and Analytics organization. To realize our company’s strategy of becoming a CPG Leader in Data and Analytics, it’s imperative to actively govern our Enterprise Data so it can be protected and trusted. In this role, Sr. Data Steward will partner with business and Digital and Technology (D&T) stakeholders to drive data quality improvements for Vendor and Customer Master Data domains to ensure data is fit for business use. KEY ACCOUNTABILILITIES Apply data governance to North America (NA) Vendor and Customer Master Data Domains Lead the development of data standards, rules, and quality metrics for data domain in partnership with Data elements owners, Data Governance Consultants, Quality Analysts, Operations team (data maintainers), and stakeholder groups across General Mills (GMI). Identify, consolidate, and resolve data quality issues to enable trusted data in partnership with business owners and SMEs Act as primary point of contact within their data domain, directly interacting with stakeholders and / or other data stewards across all aspects of the organization when necessary. Ensure data is documented in Enterprise Catalogue Monitor key KPI's to ensure the accuracy and completeness of the critical data within respective domain(s) Understand data lineage and provide data flow consultation Facilitate Working and Governance council meetings to drive data decisions to action Identify improvements and build justification for resource prioritization Collaborate closely with MillsWorks Pods and other enterprise initiatives that have direct dependency on Master data quality. Provide work direction to Data Steward Analyst Lead team improvement initiative(s) to drive efficiencies or adoption of new practices to meet new business or regulatory needs MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Bachelor's degree 5+ years of related experience Demonstrated knowledge of Data Governance strategies and processes Experience in Project Management and Change Management Experience in creating differentiated service Experience with data quality monitoring, data quality tools, data cleansing Proven record to be excellent at communication, collaboration, influence PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS Experience with SAP, Information Steward, Concento, Alation and/or other data governance solutions Experience with Customer and/or Vendor Master Data Experience with SQL CONSIDERATIONS We are open to 100% remote candidates with occasional travel based on business needs. Salary Range The salary range for this position is $89200.00 - $148800.00 / Annually. At General Mills we strive for each employee's pay at any point in their career to reflect their experiences performance and skills for their current role. The salary range for this role represents the numerous factors considered in the hiring decisions including, but not limited to, educations, skills, work experience, certifications, etc. As such, pay for the successful candidate(s) could fall anywhere within the stated range.
