Job summary

PDF Solutions in Santa Clara, CA, seeks a data engineering specialist to design and implement ETL processes. You will map and design ETL workflows, write code in Perl and Python, and unit test solutions to ensure data quality.

You will collaborate with Support and SWD teams, build a knowledge base on data engineering decisions, and participate in design meetings with analysts and report developers to drive iterative improvements in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in electrical/computer engineering, information management or computer science.
• 5+ years of experience writing applications; preference for scripting languages (Python, Perl, Bash).
• 3+ years of practical Linux OS experience.
• 3+ years in Product, Process, or Semiconductor Yield Engineering.
• Experience with relational databases including Oracle and Informix; ability to read/write SQL.
• Experience with machine learning and big data (Cassandra, Hadoop) is preferred.
• Extremely competent, self-driven, and self-reliant; excellent English.

Responsibilities

• Create an ETL mapping and/or design document depending on organizational needs.
• Write ETL code, primarily in Perl and Python, and unit testing it.
• Collaborate with Support and SWD teams to fix issues during the product lifecycle.
• Build a knowledge base to understand how data engineering decisions affect reports and information.
• Assist leadership for business intelligence in iterative development requirements.
• Coordinate coding efforts and encourage communication among coworkers.
• Work in a rapid-fire, iterative setting.
• Participate in design meetings with analysts, data modelers, and report developers.
• Keep up with new processes and convey trends and opportunities to management.
