Job summary

Protective Life seeks a Data Solutions Architect who bridges business strategy and technical execution to design end-to-end data solutions for analytics, reporting, and AI across the enterprise.

This senior individual contributor embeds with delivery teams, partnering with engineers, product, and business stakeholders to ensure usable, compliant data solutions aligned to Protective’s priorities.

Qualifications

• Significant progressive experience in data engineering, data architecture, or solution architecture, including senior technical capacity.
• Experience designing data solutions that support analytics, reporting, or AI/ML use cases.
• Hands-on experience with cloud data platforms and modern data technologies.
• Proven track record of influencing technical direction and driving adoption of standards across teams.
• Experience partnering with business leadership to shape priorities, frame trade-offs, and support investment decisions.

Responsibilities

• Set and communicate the technical direction for data solutions across domains, establishing reference designs and patterns.
• Review and challenge designs proposed by delivery teams; lead design reviews and architecture sessions.
• Drive alignment across teams, build consensus, and provide clear recommendations when consensus is not reachable.
• Make architectural decisions under uncertainty with documented rationale and trade-offs.
• Ensure data solutions meet business intent while remaining technically sound and scalable.
• Mentor engineers and architects, contributing to hiring and the data community of practice.
• Design integration patterns to move data across systems and enable analytics, BI, and AI platforms.
