State Street’s Charles River Development is seeking a Data Solutions Architect – Managing Director to define and execute the enterprise data strategy underpinning CRD and the Alpha platform, enabling data-driven innovation and client value.

Lead cloud-native, real-time data architectures, establish governance, and drive AI-ready data foundations while partnering with Product and executive teams to scale data-driven solutions across global markets.

Qualifications

• 20+ years of software and data engineering experience with leadership in large-scale data platforms.
• Proven track record defining enterprise data architecture and cloud-native platform transformations.
• Deep knowledge of distributed data systems including data warehouses, lakehouses, and real-time processing.
• Hands-on experience with Azure, Databricks, Snowflake, Kafka, and orchestration frameworks.
• Strong experience establishing automated engineering standards including DevOps/DataOps practices, CI/CD, and Product Security.
• Experience implementing data governance, security, privacy, and regulatory controls in financial services.
• Proven leadership ability including hiring, mentoring, and scaling engineering organizations.
• Strong communication skills with ability to influence senior leadership and cross-functional stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Define and execute the enterprise end-to-end data strategy and functional architecture aligned with Alpha priorities.
• Lead the evolution toward cloud-native, event-driven, and real-time data architectures across ingestion, transformation, storage, governance, and distribution.
• Drive adoption of modern technologies including Snowflake, Databricks, streaming platforms, and cloud-native infra.
• Establish scalable patterns for data sharing, APIs, data marketplaces, and client-facing access models.
• Establish data foundations for AI/ML and generative AI use cases with high-quality, governed datasets.
• Partner with Product, Engineering, Architecture, and Client-facing teams to translate requirements into scalable data solutions.
• Define and lead the data product strategy, including domain-oriented data products and reusable data assets.
• Drive data-enabled capabilities to improve client outcomes and operational efficiency; collaborate on commercialization strategies.
• Define governance, security, privacy, and regulatory controls; ensure compliance across markets.
• Lead and mentor global R&D teams; advocate data strategy at executive levels; build leadership pipeline.
