Job summary

The Cigna Group is seeking a Principal Data / Solution Architect to lead the design of reusable, enterprise‑grade data models and architectures that power our data products. You will collaborate with data engineering, analytics, and product teams to deliver production‑ready patterns and governed assets.

You will drive AI‑assisted design and automation while mentoring engineers, ensuring architectural intent is realized in scalable, reusable solutions across the organization.

Qualifications

• Deep, hands-on experience as a data/solution architect in a complex enterprise data environment.
• Expert knowledge of medallion architecture (Bronze/Silver/Gold) and reusable data modeling.
• Proven ability to translate architectural direction into concrete, buildable data models and designs.
• Strong hands-on experience refactoring bespoke solutions into reusable, production-ready assets.
• Working knowledge of CI/CD pipelines, automated code evaluation, and controlled promotion to production.
• Ability to apply AI and automation to accelerate modeling while preserving governance and quality.
• Strong technical communication and mentorship in complex, regulated enterprises.

Responsibilities

• Design reusable, scalable data models and architectures underpinning the medallion architecture.
• Produce concrete architecture artifacts—data models, blueprints, reference patterns, design specs.
• Translate architectural direction into production-ready designs aligned to enterprise standards.
• Own medallion architecture design, ensuring reuse across multiple use cases.
• Refactor raw solutions onto centralized Silver model for widespread reuse.
• Apply AI/automation to accelerate modeling and documentation while maintaining governance.
