Allstate Insurance is seeking a Managing Engineer, Data Security Engineering to lead a team building data security controls across DLP, data intelligence, and data access. You will drive technical direction and measurable outcomes with secure-by-default practices enterprise-wide.

You translate complex requirements into scalable solutions, mentor engineers, and shape policy-as-code workflows in cloud environments while balancing hands-on work.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional software, data, or security engineering experience with production systems.
• 2+ years of experience leading engineers while remaining engaged in technical design and reviews.
• Deep knowledge of data protection, DLP, discovery, access controls, and governance.
• Cloud, SaaS, CASB, and enterprise data protection architectures understood.
• Strong scripting and automation using Python, PowerShell, REST APIs, Terraform, YAML, JSON.

Responsibilities

• Build and lead a team accountable for engineering data security products and controls.
• Set technical direction across architecture, design, implementation, deployment, and support.
• Provide hands-on leadership through code, solution design, and key decisions.
• Guide capabilities across DLP Policy, Data Intelligence, and Data Access.
• Develop policy-as-code workflows, reusable control patterns, and automated testing.
