Job summary

Roblox is seeking a Data Scientist to partner with product, design, and engineering teams to measure and optimize the Roblox app’s navigation and information architecture. You will define KPIs, build measurement frameworks, and apply causal inference and experimentation to guide product decisions.

Qualifications

• Advanced degree in a quantitative field such as Statistics, Applied Math, Physics, Engineering, CS, Economics.
• 5+ years of industry experience in Data Science or related quantitative discipline, preferably with consumer apps.
• Strong analytical and technical skills with large-scale data, SQL, and Python/R.
• Deep expertise in statistical analysis, causal inference, experimentation, and measurement methodologies.
• Proven ability to independently drive ambiguous, high-impact problems using first-principles thinking.
• Experience partnering cross-functionally with Product, Engineering, Design, and Leadership to shape strategy.
• Exceptional communication and storytelling skills for both technical and executive audiences.

Responsibilities

• Define and measure information architecture success, navigation systems, and core user experiences.
• Develop metrics and frameworks for navigation efficiency, discoverability, user friction, and UX quality.
• Understand user journeys and identify opportunities to improve content discovery and navigation.
• Establish decision-making frameworks to evaluate trade-offs across journeys and surfaces.
• Leverage experimentation, causal inference, and measurement modeling for platform-wide initiatives.
• Partner with Product, Engineering, Design, and Data Science leaders to shape product strategy and alignment.
• Build scalable measurement frameworks to monitor UX health and guide data-informed decisions.
