Job summary

Roblox is seeking a Principal Software Engineer for the Discovery UX team in San Mateo, CA. You will design, implement, and ship frontend features powering the discovery journey for millions of users, with a strong stance on performance and cross-device consistency.

You will also influence backend interactions and data pipelines, applying rigorous A/B tests and deep-dive analyses to drive product and UX improvements across Roblox’s web and app experiences.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of software development experience.
• 8+ years of experience with web or app technologies (React, Typescript, Javascript).
• Proven track record building and launching complex, consumer-facing features.
• Degree or equivalent experience in CS/Applied Math/Engineering/Statistics is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and ship features that define the discovery journey for millions of users.
• Architect universal solutions for delivering high-performance features across devices.
• Influence client-server orchestration and dynamic code deployment across Roblox ecosystem.
• Drive UX improvements through A/B testing and data analysis of experiments.
• Collaborate with Roblox teams to ensure a coherent user experience and scalable designs.
