Job summary

Vox Media is seeking a Senior Data Scientist focused on our Subscriptions business to build models, tools, and frameworks that drive growth and inform marketing and product decisions. You’ll join a small, end-to-end Data team that owns our data warehouse, has production recommendation models, enables marketing personalization, and owns our experimentation platform.

Collaborate across product, growth, and engineering to translate analyses into actionable outcomes and scale data-driven decisions

Qualifications

• A track record of using data science to change a business decision.
• Comfort owning a problem across its whole lifecycle: framing, building the dataset, modeling, shipping, and measuring.
• Fluency in Python and SQL in data science/ML contexts.
• Rigor with experiment design and drawing actionable conclusions from results.

Responsibilities

• Retention and engagement models that identify at-risk subscribers and drive interventions.
• Lifetime value models to guide acquisition channel decisions and automate integration into decision points.
• Personalization at scale extending recommendation systems to new surfaces and forms.
• Design and analyze experiments that determine which experiences ship to production.
